June 8 Monday
2009 7am 50'(10) cloudy
We leave Winnipeg for Thunder Bay. This the halfway point between the East and the West coast. A good start for wild life- 4 deer, a sandhill crane,a red fox crosses to road in front of us and a black bear and her twins are just heading into the forest. We pass many lakes and ponds many with beaver lodges. We follow hwy 17. We go through another time zone-Atlantic time 1 more hour ahead. We stay at the Koa on the North side of town. $67 for 2 nights. We are going to visit our former Coquitlam neighbor Bonnie and Tom. Their daughter Missy and Sherri were best friends at school. Thunder Bay is on Lake Superior the second largest freshwater lake in the world by ares and holds 10% of the worlds surface fresh water. Massive grain elevators dominate the waterfront. The state of Michigan is across the lake. We traveled 432m (696k)
REMEMBER- A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
