June 1 Monday 2009
8:30 am 65'(18) we leave Burnaby Cariboo RV park in gorgeous sunny weather. When we went in 2006 we took the Northern route across BC and Alberta , this time we take the Southern route. We got as far as Ottawa and had to turn back as I developed a tumor on my spine. We went home and got that taken care of and the following year Sherri has twins so we stay home for that. As they say third time lucky. We take hwy.3 from Hope to Oliver (the Hope Princeton) where Sherri's mother-in-law (Annette) lives. At Manning Park we still see patches of snow in the shadows of the trees. We pass through dense rain forest. From Penticton to Keromeos the scenery changes to rolling hills with sagebrush cover where Herefords roam expansive ranges in search of nourishment which is sparse. In the desert surrounding Osoyoos irrigation has created lush orchards of fruit and produce. We arrive at 1:30 to 85' (29) hot Annete and Orv have a beautiful place right on Vaseux lake. They just finished putting loads of sand for the kids on their beach, they are going to love it. We park in front of their house for the night. After drinks on the sun deck we are treated to a roast pork dinner with all the trimmings. Thanks Annette and Orv. Miles driven-238
