June 5 Friday
2009 7:30am 49'(8)
We pass through the Cypress hills of Alberta still following hwy 3. At Medicine Hat we take hwy 1. Here is where we join our trip of 06. We do not stop but if you do we stayed at Gas City camp grounds. Make sure you go and see the Medalta & Hycroft clay factory. Today we continue on to Regina. We do not stop at Moose Jaw but if you do we stayed at the Oasis complex and took in the history of transportation museum and the Tunnels of Moose Jaw with it's Chicago connection and Al Capone. The Murals are also worth seeing. This time we do not stop here either but continue on to Regina. On our way we pass flat country. It is trying to rain so dark clouds form. A painters delight watching the sky change with the sun trying to peep through here and there. 10 am it finally rains and the temp. drops to 37'(4). at 12:30 it stops raining. We arrive in Regina at Buffalo Lookout Campground at 3:45 52'(11)
The campground is full but they phone someone who might not be coming in tonight or tomorrow so we can have his spot. Saskatchewan is booming and a lot of workers are here. We pay $57 for 2 nights. We traveled 433 miles (697k)
REMEMBER -if you don't ask you don't get
