Friday We take people for a harbour cruise Lin and Larry from Powel River and Terry and Nancy from California. Rain at first then it stopped so we left then the rain started again so we cut our trip short. Sun came out after everyone left, wouldn't you know it.

Saturday raining hard all morning so we decide to see if Sherri had any thing she wanted to do and she said yes so over we went. It had stopped raining for awhile so we went gardening and found 3 snails .grandma got a jar and we had fun watching it. There was another downpour after. Will summer ever come??Tomorrow is supposed to be better so we will head out probably Snug Cove first then either Center Bay or Ekins so will be without internet

June 23 Thursday 2011 BYC

The first day of summer is officially here after a long wet cold Spring. Monday I help Bill sand the transom. (back of the boat) Tuesday I go painting, Wednesday I give the transom the first coat of varnish. I walk up Launsdale as it is nice and sunny. We take a drive to Horseshoe Bay for supper- clam chowder and halibut fish and chips. Yum a nice change. Weather sunny. Sherri signs up Carter and Madison in preschool in Wind and Tide starting in November. Thursday I put the second coat on the transom. Weather got cool again. We just can't win.

Wigwam Inn Royal Vancouver's outstation Has alot of history a 40 room lodge built in 1910 by Aloo Von Avenslebeb as a luxury lodge. It even had a German beer garden. Over the year it changed hands many times as WWI came along and the Europeans tourest died with it. 1962 the RCMP raided for gambling brothel. A movie was made on the property and many restrants tried to make a go of it. RVYC bought the property 1986 and brought it up to date.

June 10 Sunday 2011 Happy Father's day

Thursday we head for Clemmy up Indian arm as the 3 clubs in the bay are having a get together on Saturday. Only 3 boats are here tonight. 14 were there for Friday. A big surprise at around 3pm a beautiful shinny black bear strolls onto our property. A good thing that no kids were play there . I got some good pictures. He stayed 5-10 minutes eating berries and new leaves. He was a very healthy bear. Saturday Royal Vancouver club had everyone over for breakfast of fruit ,muffins, and donut holes and coffee of coarse. . Then different members showed us around their beautiful location inside and out. I even got to go up to the waterfalls. 11:30 was hambergers put on by us, and at 3:30 Iron Bay had a wonderful happy hour. Needless to say we didn't need any supper. Weather was raining in the morning, drizzle in the afternoon and some clear periods. Sunday was back to rain and drizzle so we head home after a pancake breakfast put on by the juniors. We go to Sherri ,Gerry and the twins for a steak dinner. Carter and Madison loved the new Nemo books I brought them.

REMEMBER-good, better, best never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best

June 13 Monday 2011 BYC

I babysit Friday as Sherri and Gerry go to a play ( Wicked) They go to Vancouver for the show the same day the Canucks hockey game so the streets are crowded with people watching the huge screen TV in the street, ( Canucks win 1-0) Saturday BYC has an antique boat and car show. The big kids don't get their act together and we arrive at the club around 6:30 pm. Carter and Madison have a great time exploring the boat in and out. They have no problem wearing the life jackets. We get up top in time for the entertainment of a live band with great dance music. Madison has great time dancing to the beat. Carter is more interested in wandering around the antique cars. I didn't take my camera with me so missed some good shots won't I ever learn? Sunday Janet and Chuck Monkley come for dinner. We have a good time reminiscing. Monday June 13 drizzle, then downpour, drizzle, downpour all day long so much for walking up launsdale and the libruary. Canucks loose tonight

REMEMBER-there is no shortcuts to any place worth going.

June 6 Monday 2011 BYC

We have a lovely boat ride up the arm sunny and warm for a change. There were only 4 BYC boats the first night at Clemmy. I loved listening to the roar of Granite falls across the way. Saturday's good weather brought 14 BYC boats overnight. One boat had a big screen TV so we all could watch the canucks's hockey game ( the finals) Sunday we are down to 3 boats overnight. We go back to the club Monday leaving only 1 boat. Tuesday they are forecasting rain.

Up date on Shannon and Ethan-

They are on the move again. This time a 16 day trip to Palau in Micronesia, a tightly clustered archipelago. 500 miles from the Philippines. The main islands are Angar, Babeldaob , Kora and Peleiu. The latter 3 are tied together with the same reef. These islands are part of the Caroline Island chain. This area is where the army veterans of WWII were stationed. I think they plan on swimming with millions of stingless jellyfish and will see the giant clam that can weigh a quarter of a ton. This area is for scuba diving some of the best in the world. They will only be ther 10 days then they are going in the yard for work on the boat.

June 1 Wednesday 2011 BYC

We didn't go to the zoo because of the rain even though it cleared up by lunch we had already returned to the boat cold and wet. The overall dreary weather has kept me from blogging. I guess everyone is tired with everyone complaining but at least we we are nor contending with floods and tornadoes.

REMEMBER-To honor the past and embrace the future
