Getting old is not always fun

Wow just getting back to the land of the living. I have been extremely busy but loved it, but it put toil on my body. My right knee is swollen from too much walking, ice and a cane remedied that,plus pills. My allergies decides to kick in so dealing with that too. Reactine helped solve that problem. I sleep a lot too. The family was a delight, the kids loved the golf cart and the pool just minutes away. Sherri vacuumed , changed the sheets and tidied up. Thanks kido ! Paul and Edith had a good visit even though Paul said watching polo was like watching grass grow, but Edith loved it. Our last dinner together at Jackalopes was just about a disaster as Paul and Edith couldn't find the restaurant. Hudson and Dina joined our fun too. Dina is still having difficulties with 2 bones broken in her foot. Bills cousin Ken came to the rescue as he brought me over a cane and gave advice on medication. He left with a promise of a dinner delivered tomorrow. Wow that is what friends and family is for. Thanks love you all.

forgot to say we had an earthquake yesterday at 1:30 am  We didn't feel a thing as we were out cold with sleep.

January 15 Wednesday 2014

We make a dash to cars land in California Adventure park. The best ride in the park. We race around beautiful scenery from Disney's Pixar movie cars. Next is it's a bugs life ( good too ) Kids do bumper cars then pictures with Goofy and Donald. Grizzley river run is a whitewater raft adventure. Carter gets splashed but is happy. Another ride I enjoyed was Condor Flats where we fly over California's landmarks. We have to do Ariel's little mermaid under water the sea 2 more times. Now back to Disneyland park- Pinocchio, Snow White, Alice in wonderland and more. Exhausted again back by 8:30 another wonderful day

Tuesday 2014 back to Disneyland. Peter Pan first then a boat ride through a whale, a train ride. It's a small world then lunch at Village Haus . Pictures with Tigger, Pooh and Goofy. Pirates of the Carribean was really good. I am sure I missed some. Back to the hotel .Kids go swimming. Shannon goes for dinner with us we share h'ordeves. Back and watched a kids movie. Dad watches his Tuesday night specials. I go with the kids for ice cream. A big day grandma is pooped.

January 12 Sunday 2014

We walk around the college of the desert. Bill and I buy travel clothes that are bug resistant, and with UPF 30+ (Rail Riders). We go to lunch at Carl's Jr. Then a quick stop at Walmart. We go to Hudson and Dina's around 3. We have a good visit. Poor Dina has broken bones in her foot so she has difficulty walking and is very painful. We all go to dinner at the Habachi then they come back to our place for the first time. Shannon leaves for LA today at 10 am. W e are going to visit Jack and Rene from Alberta this afternoon in Desert Pools in Desert Hot Springs.

Shannon, Pat and I hiked Indian Canyon. A beautiful day for a hike. Yestday Shannon and I went and walked the gardens at Sumnnyland and watched the movie on the estate. Shannon bought 3 clay heads for the boat at the gift shop. Took pictures but blogspot still will not let me download them. El Paseo shopping was next. I like shopping with Shannon as she buys things. She bought some fun glasses (12) for the boat too. She rewarded herself with 4 tops. Thursday night we went to Ruby's for dinner then did the street fair. Fun was had by all. Saturday will be the COD.

Larry and Lynne forgave me and came for lunch. I also invited Pat and Peter both couples from Powel River , the idea for the lunch. I am getting excited as Shannon arrives around 7pm for 5 days . We will all go together to meet Sherri and family in Disneyland.

Pete and Pat take us to a dog show in Indio. What a huge event. We watch dogs being groomed. Very impressive. We watch dogs strutting their stuff. Beautiful. I took pictures but they will not download. So will try latter.

January 6 Monday 2014

Today I make the biggest mistake in a long time. I mistakenly invite people for lunch Monday instead of Wednesday. I proceed to go to Mexician train not knowing I made the mistake . I come home around 2:30 . Bill is fuming, Lynne and Larry arrived for lunch. I am not their. I check my sent messages and sure enough I said Monday. I am mortified

January 2 Thursday 2014

We had a good trip back to Palm Desert. Art walk at the backstreet galleries Wednesday. Thursday I hike the Henderson trail with 9 others. Our guide Kerry Berman was very knowledgeable. I was going to hike in the afternoon too but Steve phones to say he was delivering a new recliner chair. Tomorrow is crafty ladies and classic car cruise on El Paseo then the Art walk
