August 9 Sunday 2009 sunny St John's
Get ready to move day, laundry etc. No sight seeing or museums. Just a little about the bird we have been seeing.
Murres- Black backs and head with white extended up the throat in a point. They nest in colonies on cliff. They have the most densely packed nesting colony of any bird with 28-34 birds per square inch. They do not build nest just lay eggs on rock ledge.
Kittiwake-member of the gull family. White head and body, gray back and wings tipped in solid black, bills are yellow legs ,dark gray. Kittiwakes build grass nest cups on cliff-faces.
Black water tanks empty and water tanks full already to hook up.
REMEMBER- We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
