Aug 4 Tuesday 2009. I turn the big 70 today unbelievable. I was hoping I could say We were going to France. We tried to make reservations for St Pierre and Mequelon but they were booked solid so we will try again after St Johns. Saint -Pierre is actually owned and run by France, with French language,French customs and French currency in a way it is like traveling to France without leaving North America. It is on the tip of the Burin peninsula.
We wake to fog and drizzle but by 9am it clears. Our next destination is the Avon Peninsula and St Johns. Bill made reservations for 5 days at Peppy park $40 a day the most expensive so far but the park is right in town like the Burnaby Caribou and I have WIFI right in the rig. Bill gets the satalite dish working and is listening to the Bill Good show. A real happy camper. We arrived at 12.30. sunny and 80' (27) We drove 195 mi (315k) . Bill takes me out to a great seafood dinner at Papa's Pier 17.
The capital St John's- do not confuse it with Saint John in nearby New Brunswick. It is small metro of 100,645 representing about one-third the population of the entire Provence. And it is built around a harbour that can be enjoyed from nearly everywhere , as the city spreads out on the hillside surrounding it. The jellybean coloured houses brighten the rocky terrain.
REMEMBER- Age considers, youth ventures
