Aug 1 Saturday 2009
on way to Bonavista 9:30 – 66'(19') pouring rain
We go through Terra Nova National Park. Around this area we are looking for the infamous “Newfoundland speed bumps” also known as moose. We see
none. We do not stop at Terra Nova Orchre Hill lookout to enjoy the panoramic view of the park's tree-covered hills, bog and oceanfront as it is foggy and raining .We hope to stop on our back. We turn off hwy 1 to hwy 233 a terrible road so don't take it instead continue on to hwy 230. We arrive at the Paradise farm RV park around 12:45 and there is a Adventure Caravan already there . (17 rigs) but there is room for us. We pay $40 for 2 nights. It rains all day. After we get set up we drive into historic Bonavista with its narrow streets and crocked poles, weathered fences holding back sheep and cows and find the library. Closed. We return to the RV park and discover that the wagon master for the Adventure caravan is Terry and Barry . We did the Copper Canyon top and bottom with them in 2006. We have a little visit. The sun comes out at 8pm a little late but better late than never. It is supposed to be good weather tomorrow.
REMEMBER-When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
