June 4 continued-At 1:30 we take the
bus on a 1 hour trip to Cochem Germany , wine country. We pass many
castles many are hotels, some personal homes and some belong to the
state and used as museums. After a tour of the city we tour Reichburg
castle. Destroyed by the French in 1689 , restored for a private home
1868, and 1942 ( war time ) forced to sell to the government. It now
belongs to the town Cochem. Well preserved and looked after with
period furniture and art work. After our guided tour of the castle we
go down for wine tasting.. They tell us that flat growing wines are
the cheapest and hillside grown wines more expensive as hand picked.
We arrive back at the boat 7:30 in time for dinner at 8. Water is
coming down slightly.
REMEMBER-Never let yesterdays
disappointment overshadow tomorrows dreams
