September 25 2010-at sea
we call a taxi and have all our suitcases at BYC's gate ready to go to the cruise terminal. 10:15 he arrives on time. $ 40 including tip. We check our bags and proceed to security and customs. No problems. We are put into a holding pen waiting to board the ship (Zuiderdam-Holland America). Finally at 11:30 we are allowed to board . Our suitcases are not in our rooms until much latter. They have a special Lunch for all passengers who boarded in Vancouver. At 2pm we attend a ships orientation starting at the top in the crows nest and working our way down to the first floor. At 4pm we have a mandatory passenger safety briefing. ( life jackets are to be left in the cabin). Our suitcases have arrived in our room but we do not have too much time to put things away as our dinner sitting is 5:45. I won't bore you with the menu but it was delicious. And many choices to make. 8 pm is showtime -tonight is a comedian -Wayne Cotter. He kept us in stitches. We walk around the deck 4 times. Then back to our rooms to put more stuff away.
REMEMBER-The world is a book, those who do not travel read only a page.
