Nov 26 Sunday- Benson Today is cleanup day. We take a break and go and tour a ghost town movie set , Gammons Gulch,12 miles away. The founder Jay was never at loss for words. He kept us in stitches. He delights us by spinning yarns with both eloquence of a prized story teller. His wit is as quick as an outlaw’s draw and his passion for the old west may be unparalleled. He knew where every bit of floorboard and every piece of nostalgia came from. He has 17 authentic handbuilt structures and the artifacts were genuine. His father was John Waynes bodyguard and he himself appeared in movies. He has movie memorabilia (6 movies filmed here)

Nov 27.Monday-Benson Today we get our carpets professionally cleaned. To get out of his way we decide to drive to Fort Huachuca. We get there and they will not let us in. We drive to Douglas and stop in a visitor’s center for advice on a good restaurant and we tell her about our difficulty in the fort. She makes a phone call and they said we should have got in. We might try again another day. We have a good lunch then go across the street to the big old hotel to see their grand staircase. Wouldn’t you know it my batteries were dead and my spare was in the RV. I guess it was a good thing we didn’t get into the fort with no camera.
