Zion-elevations range from 8,726 down to 3666 . The Paiute Indians considered Zion a sacred place . To the Morman pioneers it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples. Many of the towers and cliffs have bibical names-the three patriarchs. angels landing. and the great white throne.

October 18 Tuesday 2011 Zion

We drive 35 miles to the beautiful Zion canyon. Sheer vividly coloured cliffs tower above as you follow the road along the floor of Zion. We buy a yearly National Park Pass good in all NP for 1 year.$80. We stop at the visitors center to see when the rangers talks are. We get the free off-on shuttle bus to Zion Museum to watch a 20 minute introductory movie. Next is a rangers talk on water, rocks and time. We get back on the bus and go all the way to the end. Here we walk the Riverside walk ( 1.5 hours) a paved trail leads us to the narrows. We see mule deers and lots of squirrels. We take the bus to weeping rock trail, a short steep hike that ends at a rock alcove with dripping springs. We are all tired so head back to the visitors center. We check out the RV park but find out one has to make reservations for the electric spots . Dry camping is first come first serve. ( all nice sites. )

October 8 Saturday Burnaby rv park

Today I cook a turkey at Sherri's , She does all the vegetables and Floyed does the stuffing and makes a pumpkin and an apple crumble. All delicious. I get to take home leftovers and Sherri also made cabbage rolls for us to take home. Sherri also made up a batch of antipasto to take down South with us. In the afternoon we go and watch them with their skating lessons. I again didn't do much cooking this week as we went to George and Betty's for dinner Wednesday after painting and to Hudson and Dina's on Thursday.

My friend Flo takes me out for lunch at the White Spot at Park Royal we walk the mall latter to work off some of the food. Friday I enjoy the luxury of Utopia Spa compliments of Sherri for all the baby sitting I did this summer. The massage was heavenly and my toenails look exquisite. Saturday we go to London Drugs to look at cameras and we come home with a Panasonis Lumix 18x full HD. 6 of us go out for schnitzels after a happy hour at Bob and Rose's . excellent food.
