March 30 Wednesday 2011 Surrey

Today Sherri blows up the bouncing castle. Is it ever big. Carter and Madison love it. One cannot watch TV as it is noisy with air being blown in to keep it up. Also with the size it is hard to see the TV. It is in the front room. We deflate it and get things back to normal. Bill comes for dinner and takes me back to the RV .

REMEMBER- wisdom is know which path to take , integrity is taking it.

March 31 Thursday 2011 Surrey

Our physical at the doctors today. We pass with flying colours. OK for another year. I have Hudson and Dina , Clark and shelia for dinner We had a good time catching up.

Oh what a day. I decide to make cinnamon buns. First off we are short 1 cup of the WW flour. Thank goodness I hadn't mixed the yeast. We wait for Sherri to get up so she can go to the store for us. Got our flour and when I turned my back Carter added the cup of water for the yeast into my milk and butter mixture. Oh well just add more flour. I haven't baked bread in years so it was a good adventure. The kids had fun poking the dough. Carter was the only one who really enjoyed the effort he loved pulling the squares apart. I didn't put enough sugar so was rather dry oh well a good learning experience. My friend Sharon came to visit and picked one of my market scenes in Peru to paint. I was homered. I painted more on the kids table.

REMEMBER-Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain.

March 28 Monday 2011 Surrey

Another sunny day. Today we make chocolate chip cookies. We kick the ball around for fresh air outside. I forget to take my camera with me. I work more on their table.

March 27 Sunday 2011 Surrey

I am baby sitting until Wednesday . Sunday is a beautiful sunny day so I take the twins to the local park. We have a grand time. I am painting a small table with fish for Madison and Carter.

March 25 Friday 2011 Burnaby

Bill goes to the boat as he is getting his starter checked out. He takes the phone in case Cyrus phones. so I can't make phone calls. So I putter around the Rv park. Bill arrives back by noon ( he left at 6am). Shannon phones in the evening. They had good holiday in Queensland NZ. Their first mate is still in the hospital and will be there for awhile. They are busy getting ready for the boss to arrive at the end of the month.

REMEMBER-whatever doesn't kill you does not make you stronger.

March 24 Thursday 2011 Burnaby

Today Bill drops me off at the Burnaby library. I walk to the Lougheed mall and get my eyebrows shaped. Walk around Walmart and Coles then back to the Rv park. A great day for a walk. Bill continued onto the boat. He stops to get a years supply of eye pills and when he arrives home he is short 2 boxes @ $ 18 ea . He phones but no results. A hard lesson -count before you leave the store.

REMEMBER- get rid of everything that isn't beautiful or joyful .

March 23 Wednesday 2011 Burnaby

My Carter and Madison are such a joy. Carter is going to be a chief for sure he loves to help in the kitchen and is always cooking in moms kitchen helping to stir and mix, or his play kitchen. Madison is a real little mother as she takes her doll stroller everywhere even to Stanley Park aquarium. We head home around 2 and will return Saturday for 5 days. Hopefully I will get some new pictures of the twins.

REMEMBER_Genius without education is like silver in the mine.

March 22 Tuesday 2011 Burnaby

Today we have a doctors appointment to get our blood work done. We have fasted. So all is OK . We do a little bit of grocery shopping then head off to Sherri's to baby sit while she helps Gerry do some filing etc. We stop and get some nasal spray( a prescription from the doctor ($ 42) as my nose keeps running and will not stop. Otherwise a A beautiful sunny day.

REMEMBER-Education is what survives when what has been learnt has been forgotten

March 18-22 heading home and more 2011

We have a shorter drive today and stay at the Tulalup (sp?)cassino. They have a RV park dry camping -room to put out slides but no power. We go for dinner at the buffet. They have some great art I took some pictures but I forgot the cable to download so will do it latter from the rv park as I am at Sherri's .We wake up to sunshine and had a pleasant drive to the border- no waits no ,problems They are not concerned over liquor so didn't have to pay duty with the extra like last year. We settle in the Burnaby Cariboo Rv park by noon . We go to Sherri's for our twin fix. and stay overnight. Sunday we go to the Abbotsford Rv show. Nothing grabs us. We stop at White Spot for out hamburger fix.. Sherri and Gerry surprise us and visit us on their way home from Stanley Park.

REMEMBER-the mind is not a vessel that needs filling but wood that needs igniting.

March 17 Thursday 2011 Happy Saint Patrick's Day

We left Palm Springs at 7am Wednesday and drove 489 miles to Lodi Flying J. It took us 9 I/2 hours. Thursday another early start. Bill drives 416 miles (8hrs) to 7 Feathers casino. I do not know how Bill can drive so far as I have a few cat naps on the way. Seven Feathers has a special in their RV park $ 20 includes free wifi, cable, power and a shuttle to the casino. Tonight is seafood night $20 ea. They have Alaska king crab, dungeness, oysters, clams and mussels as well as prime rib. We did hit snow falling lightly on the Siskiyou but it was not sticking to the road. All in all an uneventful journey.

REMEMBER- Education is when you read the fine print. Experience is what you get if you don't.

Update on Shannon and Ethan and the CV9

Their new first mate ( only 3 hrs on the job) is still in the hospital and hanging in. He didn't break any bones just landed on his head while washing the boat. Ethan flew his parents in from London England and his sister to be by his side. Boat insurance payed for their flight and accommodations and also a nurse 24-7. They have made plans for a tempory first mate to arrive March31. The original first mate got married so had to leave the boat. They were sorry to lose him but life goes on. The boss is arriving April 1 with his wife for 2 weeks. Shannon and Ethan hope to take a quick holiday to Queensland ( South Island New Zealand) before the boss arives.

March 18 Friday 2011 Desert Pools

today I go to Bob Flemings rig to view pictures he took on his trip to North Africa. He is sure glad he went when he did as things are very different now. Bob is a member of BYC. We have him for dinner and exchange adventure stories. Weather is still too hot for Bill ( in the 80ies)

March 19 Saturday 2011 Desert Pools

We leave early and go to the COD (college of the desert) swap meet- 400 booths. I find a tutu for Madison and a spiderman cape for Carter. Bill buys a wallet. We do our last shopping at the 99cent only store and Wal-Mart. We run into Annette and Orv in the 99cent store.

REMEMBER-Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.

It is that time of the year again when we go from our winter home to our summer home. Wednesday we will head North.We expect to be in Vancouver Saturday or Sunday. We will stay in the Burnaby Carriboo RV park until the end of April. Time to get our doctor and eye appointments as well as our income taxes taken care of. We will move onto the boat in May. This year we will stay local , Pender harbour being the fartherest we go. The twins are 2 ½ so will spend quiteabit of time with them , so expect more pictures of Carter and Madison. Nothing exciting is planned until late January or February 2012 when we are trying to take another OATs trip. This time to Ruta Maya in Guadamala and Belize. (Coba and Tical) ruins). We spent most of the winter in Palm Springs area a destination that has a dizzying assortment of attractions and activities that for fill all culinary and sensory needs. The San Jucinco mt .as it's background and swaying palm trees made for pleasant surroundings. We enjoyed staying in one park for 3 months without moving. Next year we will probably pay for one month(January) when the family comes down. We are thinking of heading to Sedona in October and working our way from there .

March 17 Thursday 2011

today We have Annette and Orv (Sherri's in laws) and Ken and linda ( Bill's cousins) for dinner. They knew each other from Prince George times. We have a great evening . Weather has been hot .Bill is ready to head home. My face is still a mess. Annette gives me some remedies. (hydroge peroxyde) I try it. Add Vaseline.

REMEMBER-Learning is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust...never fear...and never dream of regretting.

March 16 Wednesday 2011

I am still not up to par. Terry has a computer class at 10am. I venture out. I download the latest edition of open Office. At 1pm there is a class on stone wire wrapping. That was fun. Shannon phoned the other day from New Zealand. their new deckhand had a terrible accident he fell and hit his head while washing the deck of the boat. He is in the hospital. We do not know how he is doing. Sherri phones to skype but I wasn't able to get on line.

Moving day today we go to Desert Hot Springs (Still in the Palm Springs area) another one of our Western Horizon parks. I am not fit to be seen in public. My nose is a mess the right side is covered with cold sores yuck. It has been hot here the last few days in the 80ies(27 and up)

March 3 Thursday 2011 Indio

Getting better but still doing a lot of hacking. Bill had the RV and the truck washed and waxed Tuesday .Wednesday the guy came to clean our rugs so I went and slept in the back of the truck. Good thing I am short. Tonight is the ART walk in El Paseo in Palm Desert. About 20 art galleries participate. They open at 5 some serve wine, cider and snacks. A fun night. The galleries do this the first Thursday of every Month. I lasted for 2 hours then hailed down a shuttle that took us right to our truck.

March 2 Wednesday 2011 Indio

When you see that Marlene hasn't turned her computer on for 3 day she must be sick. Yes I was struck Sunday . I got to eat the dinner Dina prepared then my eyes went funny my muscles aches, my bones ached I was a mess. We went home and I went to bed. Not good Monday or Tuesday. Sure glad this didn't happen while on the trip. Apparently this flue bug or cold is going around in the different RV parks. We did get the flue shots.

REMEMBER- You only live once , but if you work it right ,once is enough.
