January 25 Monday is cleaning day as we leave soon for the Palm Springs area and we are having company for dinner so floors,rugs bathroom get a good cleaning.
January 26 Tuesday I attend a crochet class and try to learn waffle- weaving. I wasn't too successful. Clark and Shelia arrive at 2 like planned. We all go for a walk and look at the pottery gift store next door. My dinner was cooked a day ahead so we had a good visit as we might not see them again until the end of March if we decide to go to Pahrump.
January 27 We go and say goodby to Bob and Gina . They are leaving for Casa Grande we will see them again in Palm Springs. It is Resort wide yard sale but nothing has my name on it. Susan and Larry leave tomorrow and we will be in Indio at the same time. Nothing too exciting in Salome one week would have been enough. Temperature has been 64-40 a little cool for me. But I guess the 3 storms played havoc everywhere in Cal and Ariz. Time to get back to normal.
REMEMBER-Count your age with friends but not with years.

January 23, 24 Saturday and Sunday Salome 2010
Saturday we drive back to Quartzsite to look at RV”s only thing we liked was a Carragelite(sp?) and a Big horn wasn't too bad but everything is getting bigger and more expensive just like boats. Sunday we have to drive to the big town of Salome as I discover all the bread I have went moldy.
REMEMBER-life is like a dream- there's good times and there are nightmares. Life will only last so long but dreams will go on forever.

January 21 Thursday 2010 Salome Arizona
We wake up to rain drumming on the roof. We go to Quartzsite again to meet with Don and Jeanine friends we have known since 1962. We meet at the tent again only this time the tent is soaked with puddles of water all over. We walk to Tyson Wells but it is so wet and windy that all the tents are closed unbelievable. We decide to go to a sitdown cafe for lunch and a gab session and get caught up on news. Driving back to Salome we notice the power out and sure enough it is out at the park too. High winds and heavy winds follow .Power back on in about 1 hour.
REMEMBER-People come in and out of your life only the real ones stay.

We wake up to sunshine. Today is site sale day .Only thing I get is free oranges and grapefruit given away by the park. I skype with the twins. My cam corder wouln't turn on so the twins couldn't see me but I could see them and they could hear me. . Bob and Gina arrive today and we have happy hour together.
REMEMBER-If you sleep on it, all you will have is dreams.

January 19 Tuesday 2010 Quartzsite Arizona It takes us 45 min to drive to Quartzsite. We meet everyone at the East end of the tent. We find a new mattress cover (long over do). We run into 2 couples from our Australia New Zealand trip here. I have a turkey leg for lunch recommended by Clark. Yum Yum . The girls check out Tyson Wells. It is Hudson and Din'a's first time here. Shelia invites us all to the Montanna rally where they are staying. They had formed a huge circle. Very impressive. We all stay for dinner. What a nice surprise.

January 18 Monday 2010 Salome Arizona It rained all night so today was a relaxing and easy day as it is to rain on and off all day. Bill did get the laundry done. Sue and Larry who we met in Casa Grande came over for happy hour . We found out that they will be in the Palm Springs area at the same time. A great hiking partner. We fall asleep with the scent of the desert as the creosote bush releases it's perfume.

January 17 Sunday 2010 Salome Arizona
I sleep well last night as Shannon phones and all is well . She sounded good and is enjoying scuba diving and exploring an ancient cave with the chief of Yuacata island in Fiji. Very exciting stuff with some great photos. They are enjoying some time off until the bosses brother arrives for a week. She phoned on her 39th birthday unbelievable that my baby is that old. Today we decide to do some exploring and see if the Salome ares has any big changes. We stop at Christina's for a delicious berger. We check out some of the larger RV sites- Desert palms and a few other sites all neat and tidy with well thought out sites (large) But who wants to live in Salome?????The phone is working and so is WIFI I am a happy camper.
REMEMBER-Life not only begins @ 40 it also begins to show.

January 14 -15 Indio 2010
We leave for Salome Arizona about 150 mi . It is near Quartzsite . I do not know if we will have WIFI and even the phone is is questionable. We will be here for 2 weeks. We will be back in Indio January 29 for another 2 weeks.

January 6 -14 Indio 2010
Sherri and Gerry Madison and Carter arrived safely without any a problems.
The twins went home yesterday. I spent the next day in bed. We lucked out as the weather was perfect. We swam in the pool, went to the zoo, and walked the collage of the desert and the Palm Springs street fair. We visited grandma Annette,s new place It is beautiful. Many people came to visit us to see how much we have grown up. We were a great hit.
REMEMBER- Grandchildren are Gods reward for not killing your children

Tuesday the park has a computer class and a presentation on the Palm Springs Follies. Tonight we are invited to Hudson and Dina's for dinner. only one sleep before the twins arrive.

January 1 2010 Happy New Year from Indio California
today we hike moon country I find the resident owl up in his favorite palm tree. Hudson and Dina and Clark and Shelia even Bill does the hike . Tonight we attend a good luck dinner of blackeyed peas ,rice ,sausage, corn bread and cold slaw Yum Yum at Linda and Max our friends from the South Africa tour. Tomorrow I lead a tag along to the bird santuary for a birding count in Indio.
