The Sherwins are in passage mode again heading South. This time it's a little hard with the twins just being born but they will be in the hospital for a while yet and Gerry is taking time off when they come home.
Oct 9 Thursday
We leave the RV park at 8:15 the temp. 39. We go to Meridian for new batteries. 11:45 we are finally finished. It is a beautiful sunny day just cold. The border was a breeze the easiest yet we didn't have to go inside for an agriculture check. We stop at the Super Wal -Mart to replenish our meat fruit and vegetables. Tulalip casino next. We park and put out our slides. Time to settle down and relax with a glass of wine before going to dinner. A great buffet.
Oct 10 Friday
We get up at 7:30 and go for breakfast at the new tulalip hotel. We leave at 8:30 after scrapping frost off our windows. Yep it is time to head South. We go to hwy 2 and Monroe, hwy 203 through some fog patches and up the Snoquamish pass . Then onto hwy 90 and Moses Lake and Linda's at Perch Point resort. We arrive about 1pm. We no sooner get set up and Linda leads me to trees loaded with apples ( 3 kinds), 2 grape vines one purple one green oh so sweet. Also vines full of ripe tomatoes. Help yourself she says all you want. Latter we head out to fields of potatoes and onions . They have finished harvesting and what was left was all left on the field to rot. We had a good time. We all go out for great Mexician food. Thanks Linda.
Oct 11 Saturday
Linda takes us out to town for the Saturday farmers market. I buy some saurkraut from a Hutterite sp?Another cold clear day. We visit and I try to use her computer but with little luck. We have Linda over for supper. Shannon phones they are back in Fort Lauderdale. Sherri phones to say Carter and Madison are both out of the incubator and in the same crib.
Oct 12 Sunday 8:30 32' (0)
We leave working our way to hwy17 South to 395 South then cross over the Oregon border hwy 82 then hwy 84. We arrive at La Grande at noon 52' (12) our first fuel stop at a Flying J $ 234:00 US . We go through the corner of Idaho and stop for the night at another Flying J near the Utah border. We get a spot on the outside edge so we can put our slides out but after we go to the cafe they tell us it snowed last night so we didn't want snow on our slide so we didn't put them out. It went down to 25 (-4) but no snow thank goodness.
