Day 25 October 18 Wednesday 2017 Puerto Montt Chili

Tonight is gala night. Weather 57F 14C back to sun very soon. I took computer on shore but and my batteries were dead so come back to ship. Everything fine but too late to return to shore. We are entertained by the Zaandam's singers and dancers who put on a very good show, music and costumes from Spain,Ireland. France and Italy. Have hot water delivered to room . Make a neocitran and go to bed.

Day 26 October19 Thursday 2017 scenic cruising Chilean Fjords. Weather 50F 10C Day starts our cold and rainey. We attend David Richerson's lecture on cycles of prehistoric diversification and extenction. Lunch in dinning room. I sleep most of the day fighting cold ???flew??? allergies???stuffed up nose and terrible cough. Sun comes out after a beautiful rainbow. Entertainment Duo Yalba We really liked their music as it was so different. They played many different instruments. Come back to room make another neocitran and go to bed.

Day 27 October 20 Friday scenic cruising canal Sarmiento. We enter the inside passage then the Brujo glaciers. So we wake up to great mountain views. We go to the Lido deck to take some pictures. Reminds us of going up Indian Arm in the winter, or Princess Louisa. David Richerson's lecture is on life on amber:a window onto life in ancient forests. I am feeling much better. After lunch in dinning room I go to the Lido deck to catch up on my reading. Day 28 October 21 Saturday 2017 Punta Arenas Chili

weather 55F 13C cloudy. We tie to the dock. Not a very interesting place. Cold and windy. We take a free bus to a mall not much of interest to us there. No WIFI so back to the ship. I watch a BBC earth production on caveing. Zaandam dancers tonight They sure have good voices and can they ever dance.

Day 30 October 23 Monday 2017 cruising Cape Horn

We get up at 6am as we are going around the horn. We go up to the crows nest for better all around views. We have breakfast in the Lido deck then come back to our room for a quick nap. Check out library and read our books. Weather great,water comfortable. Not what we expected. Sun is shinning .Dress up night. Entertainment was a unique combination of comedy and magic.

Day 31 October 24 Tuesday 2017 Port Stanley Falkland Islands. Weather 51F 11C. Sunny. We tender ashore for a 3 hour tour of Buff cove penguin rookery . After a mini-bus drive switch to 4x4 vehicle for a 20 minute off-road adventure over private farmland one would not want to have a bad back as ride was very lumpy to a penguin colony where approximately 1,000 pairs of gentoo penguins nest beside a sandy beach. As well see resident 10 pairs of King penguins with chicks. We then enjoy 1 hour free-time to explore the beach and Bluff Cove museum. Complimentary tea ,coffee or hot chocolate and time to browse in penguin gift shop. We return by 4x4. Cost was $159.95 each. A very fun day . Entertainment was the Zaandam dancers. I take a neocitron and go to bed.

Day 32 October 25 Wednesday 2017 at sea overcast. I cough all night so after breakfast Bill takes me to the doctors. She prescribes medication , I go back to bed Bill is now sea sick and he goes to bed too. This afternoon is a special lunch for frequent travellers. We now qualify. Bill is still too sick to go. I go alone. We both spend most of our time in bed I download my pictures and title them . I sleep much better after our entertainment with Brett Cave a show that blends Elton John and Billy Joel's high energy.

Day 33 October 26 Thursday 2017 at sea. It's getting warmer outside. 59F 15C Sunny Water is calm. A perfect day at sea. Eat lunch at the Lido. Still not up to joining any activities. Tonighs entertainment is Mandy Murder and Brent Cave . I always enjoy the evening shows will miss them when we get home.

Day 34 October 27 Friday 2017 Montevideo Uruguay. 64F 18C rain it pours at times. We signed up for another steam train ride. With a visit to the city. This port is more like Vancouver as we are docked right down town. I really liked this city. forgot the camera DAM Entertainment is Frozen Planet Live a visual and musical journey.

Day 35 October 28 Saturday 2017 Buenos Aires Argentina 67F 19C Sunny sunny sunny.

We need to take a bus on the pier to get us to a posting station. Pier is huge. We would get lost among all the containers. One wonders how they know where each is coming from or going to. We try to post but too many people on line so come back to the ship. We get notice that they will be varnishing or rail on the balcony. Natalie Toro our show singer with Broadway standards.

Day 36 October 29 Sunday 2017 Punta Del Este 71F 22C sunny We anchor so have to take tender to shore. A lovely town with sweeping shores. Bill does the laundry today. We have to set the clocks ahead 1 hour. I go up to the crows nest to take pictures. Entertainment is Argentina Gausha, Argentina tango, bolar and Argentina tap dancing

Sunday November 12 2017 Medford Oregon

5:50am 7' no trouble at the border they didn't even take our apples away. We stopped to fill our tank with gas. $3.05 Arrived in Seattle at 8am Sunny traffic very light. We stopped in a rest stop and had a boiled egg an apple and coffee. We were on the Portland bypass by 10:45. While driving the freeway we pass a Montanna 5^th wheel thinking it was Hudson but it turns out to be Clark and Shelia from Gibsons. We pull off at the next rest stop and have a quick chat. 2:14 we stop at 7 feathers for fuel. Temperature is now 19. We arrive in Medford at 3pm get a room at Quality Inn for $72 that includes breakfast. We did 592 miles in 9 hours

November13 Monday 2017 Bakersfield

Last night we went to Red Lobster for dinner. We left Medford Oregon at 7:30 10 degrees out. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and sausages plus all the regular stuff-cereal, toast and waffles. We went through the Siskiyou's very scenic .(no snow) California vegetable check allowed us to keep our apples. A mix bag of weather follows at one point it got so dark one would think it was night. We stop for fuel at Redding California .Sacramento at 12 noon 20 degrees and sunny WE arrive in Bakersfield at 5 and get a Super 8 we drove 597 mi.

Nov 14 Tuesday 2017 Bakersfield Ca. We stay at a super 8 bare bone breakfast not even yogurt. Bill did make himself waffles WIFI didn't work very disappointing. Will not stay here again. Up and running by 7:15 temperature 12' . We take Ca 58E to Mojave and Joshua tree. We arrive in PS at 11am temperature 28 we did 243 mi in 23hr a total of 1460 miles We booked into the Best Western with free bacon and egg breakfast.

November 16 Thursday 2017

Wednesday was a very busy day. After a good breakfast of made to order eggs, bacon and sausages plus all the regular stuff .I would really recommend this motel if you ever come to Palm Desert. We go to our place in Palm Desert Greens Steve is still working on our unit. He got the WIFI working and put in a new TV and couch. He also did some garden work our grapefruit tree is really producing. We brought in our tubs and start unloading and putting stuff in place. A change of pace – Grocery shopping. 99C only first. Yes they still have cantaloupes, watermelon, and honey dew for 99c. I got 3 romaine lettuce, spinach and cold slaw mix for 99c. Just love this place. Walmart next for our meat . Scotch, wine and Irish cream next. We get home only to find we forgot coffee. Costco here we come. A good time to have a hotdog. After a good night sleep we get ready to register in the complex. Get gate passes and hand names for the gate,

November 17 Friday 2017

Yesterday evening Clark and Shelia come over and we go to the Street fair in Palm Springs. We do the art museum first and do the free docent led tour. Leave the car in museum parking lot and walk to the street fair going first to Rubies for dinner. Come back for a quick wine then bed.

November18 Saturday 2017

I go to crafty ladies and have a good reunion with my fellow crafters. They are having a craft fair in our park Saturday I am helping set up so have to be there by 7:30. There was a good turnout and we sold $400 of baked goods a lone. weather is wonderful. Sunday is Sunday sounds where singer Kurt Reichenbash will entertain us . Then we go to Pat and Peters from Powell River for dinner.

We spend Thanksgiving with friends and family during record breaking heat (94). Sherri's mother-in-law Annette shared with 12 people in her new to her home in Casa Blanca Indio She used a piece of plywood as a table to accommodate all of us. It looked good all decorated. We were able to sit out side in the shade to recall all our experiences. Even Bill who dislikes heat never complained he just enjoyed the company and the food. So much so he fell asleep after the delicious meal. Thanks Annette for all your hard work. Orv the turkey was done just right as usual .Friday was crafty ladies and found out we made $1000. It is going towards our emergency truck for supplies in case of earthquakes. Hopefully you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I love this time of the year.

Monday November 27 2017

We had a fun weekend. Clark and Shelia drove us to Anza-Borrego. We couldn't believe all the bumper to bumper traffic from Thanksgiving going west. Boondockers (rvs without hookups- water,electric and sewer,and dunebuggy people by the hundreds. Thankfully it was all gone when we did our return to Palm Desert. At the visitors center which is hidden in a hillside-see photo we went to a bat lecture very interesting We returned to Indio where Clark and Shelia are staying In Indian Waters . This was one of our favorite rv parks. Hudson and Dina joined us for dinner. Weather is cooling of this coming week. Mexician train to-day Shelia and Dina are coming too.
