Saturday Nov 28 Palm Desert Greens had a craft fair I shared a table with cousin Linda. She did very well and sold a lot of her knitted baby toys and blankets.  I bombed out nothing oh well I will try at Casa Blanca next Saturday

Tuesday November 24 we go to Costco what a zoo I pick up a pumpkin pie for Thanks giving then go to Walmart shop and go to leave and remember I forgot the ice cream so go back in again .I started some of my paintings for the show

Thursday is painting day. A group meet near the family pool. We all paint our own thing.In the afternoon was the chefs kitchen. Dipika Patel made raw vegetable wraps. they were good

Friday is crafty ladies. We meet and some knit, crochet some quilt. We had a large group today even with some not here yet as they are not coming until the end of December. They are having their Christmas Boutique. next   saturday. I will put in some small paintings.

November 17 Tuesday 2015 Palm Desert

We are kind of settled in Palm Desert. Bill gets the satalite dish working. Yahoo.! Desert Sun newspaper is delivered every day weather perfect (80-55) What else can one ask for. Snow was on the top of tram- Mt San Jacinto. I had our first Mexician train ( Domino) group here Monday. Only 4 so far as a lot are not coming until December. Went to the pool already. I found out that Palm Desert is still having Chefs table-where they invite a resturant chief to demonstrate and Sunday sounds for an hour of entertainment.I sign up for all. Today I go on first hike at Thousand Palms with the leader Susanne. Then we go to COD for an art show “Set in stone – Petroglyphs of Orosi in Costa Roca. They were not ready for us so will go back. Wednesday we are going to see James Bond's movie

November 13 Friday 2015 Palm Desert

Breakfast was made to order. I had 2 scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns , cooked right on the spot. Toast, bagels sweets also available. We drove 1400 miles all told. We left the room at 8:30. We went to our place Steve was there (not ready for us yet but let us put 4 tubs in the car port. Next we went to Ken & Linda's to get stuff we left behind then went to the 99cent only store. They still had cauliflower,broccoli,shredded cabbage and carrots,onions and sweet potatoes for $1. and lots more can't beat their prices. Whole watermelon and cantaloupes too. Next we go to the Desert Sun to get daily delivery of the paper until end of March. Back to our place cleaning lady finished. So we start moving in. Take a short rest then go to Trader Joe's and Walmart for more shopping. I bought a BBQ chicken ($4.98) for dinner. After dinner we start putting stuff away. A long day

Another good travel day.    After breakfast of Bisquits and gravey (me ) Bill made his own waffels YES . we are on the roadby 7 am. a small hang up near Ashland a crash on hwy. stop by 3:30 at Santa Nella. Go to Denny's for dinner

We get a slower start . A great breakfast-bacon and eggs, Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, muffins ,bagels or sweet rolls. Cereals too yogart and bananas or apples .take your pick.  We take a banana each and a yogert for lunch. Weather sunny sunny sunny yahoo. In the car by 7:30 45' I discouvered that I didn't take my cord for my camera to my computer so will get it when I come home for xmas. So no pictures I took one of Mt Shaska. We arrive in Palm Desert at 2pm and get a room at the Best Western on hwy 111 as Bill's cousins are both sick with flue or colds .We will move into our place tomorrow. Had our hamberger fix at Carls Junior

left early in the morning 7am 38' No trouble at the border ask where we were going and when we were coming back and said continue on. A beautiful day for travelling mostly sunny with some fog. Arrived in Roseberg 3pm.We stay at the Super 8. WIFI works good in the room  We go to Sharis for dinner across the street.

November 8 Sunday 2015

Well we finally a justed to our jet lag. We didn't gain any weight as they walked us to death. I am glad we got to see the great wall and the terra cotta warriors, but found China too congested and too smoggy. Bill has the end of his dentist appointments tomorrow. We are all packed and ready to hit the warmer climate. Medical insurance bought ( getting expensive as it is in US. ) Glad we bought US money early.

After breakfast we visit Net master gardens and silk factory they show us the elaborate production. We do not buy anything as we like our Egyptian cotton but people were buying.

Next we take a coach to Shanghai , China's largest city. A major seaport and important commercial center. What a huge congested and smog polluted city. Crazy traffic with all different vehicles-pedal and electric moter(remember no helmets or headlights for night driving) bikes( run so quietly one cannot hear them coming) ,moterbikes with rickshaw vehicles driving in the same lane ,insane traffic. They have raised freeways where these vehicles are not allowed. Traffic heavier than New York, Los Angelous and Mexico city. We are given some free time to explore the city. Sky scraper are competing for space mixed among ancient buildings and shops. A city with some beautiful gardens and lights. Too busy for us.

Day 11 Monday 2015 October 26 Suzhou/Wuxi/Suzhou

After breakfast we transfer to the historic town Wuxi and visit the beautiful Li gardens

, then a pearl breeding center and a teapot factory. Back to Suzhou and visit to visit the grand canal dated back to 605 AD. They are still being used. . Next we visit the ancient town of Santangie , the so called Venice of the Orient. We have a gondola ride on the canal and explore how people live the traditional way along the river
