March 25 Sunday 2012
We have been very busy looking at furniture. We found a lovely bedroon suite (cinnamon coloured) We bought a memory foam mattress to go with it. These are being made locally to spe. Bill set up our satalite dish with no problem just had to phone to get it reset since we haven't used it since November. The weather has been sunny sunny sunny but is to change Tuesday

March 18 Sunday 2012
today was a great welcoming back Hudson and Dina and Shelia and Clark back from their trip South. We had a good time talking about our winter. This might be the last of the dinners in this rig. We get together with the inspectors Tuesday and if all goes well we should be able to start moving April 27. Monday Bill has a doctors appointment.
REMEMBER-Anger is a wind which blows out the lamp of the mind.

March 17 Saturday 2012 Happy St Patrick’s day
Today we return to our hopefully new place to show Sherri and Gerry and the twins also to refresh our memory. We get into the visitors suite in the club house. $ 20 a day or $100 a week. What a deal. Tuesday we meet with an inspector who will check out the place. We read over past minutes and bylaws of the complex. They have $96.000 in the constituency fund. We will see what the owner wants to do with the little bit of furniture left in the complex. He tried to have a garage sale but still had stuff left. Sherri takes us to a furniture place where they build their own . One has a choice of about 10 different woods, different styles and different hardware. A bedroom suite is first .
REMEMBER-Anyone can make a mistake. A fool insists on repeating it

March 15 Thursday 2012
We plan on selling the 5th wheel and truck as a unit. We will still head South for the winter only just rent. Bill would never sell the boat unless he really had to. The house is very near the twins-15 min drive. Also very near the freeway( 10min) so easy asses to the boat .Go to www.cotala.com/2166 for videos of our place
REMEMBER-Learn to listen. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.

Well we did it. We bought a carriage house in Surrey Fleetwood area near 152 and Fraser HWY. In a gated community Very close to a shopping centre and restaurants. 1379 sq ft. With 2 parking spots one in a garage. 2 bedrooms and a den or family room. Nice clean place ready to move into rugs and paintings in very good shape. 3 large ceiling fans with new furnace and water tank. Complex has a visitors suite and a club house. Behind us is a park so no street traffic.
REMEMBER-Make new friends but cherish the old ones.

Sorry I haven’t posted for awhile but we have had a lot of decisions to make. This winter has been a real eye opener for us. We are starting a new chapter in our life. We need better roots or a pad to come home to. A big step will it be in Coquitlam? New Westminster- upper or the Quay area? Ioco? or Surrey? We now have a realitor to show us around and decided not to look at anything under 900 sq ft.
Reflectin
This winter we have learned a lot. It is crucial that one carries medical insurance when traveling ! We are insured by BCAA highly recomended. They covered all our expenses .It cost us $ 3524.00 for insurance for the year sounds expensive but Bill is a diabetic on 4 needles a day,has high blood pressure and a slight cholesterol problem. Then I am 73 so that puts us in another bracket. ( the cost of a holiday for only 2 weeks)
The cost of our ambulance bill was $1008.00, The cost of the hospital for 2 days was $38000that included doctors visits and everything. The cost of the air jet was $19.000. All paid for by BCAA. Plus they paid to have our RV brought back to Vancouver including airfare, food, lodging and fuel for our friend Hudson a professional truck driver. .
I learned other things of importance- The importance of having a bucket list being it travel, learning a new language, learn a new game or craft, or Learn an instrument or play a round of golf. Anything just get off your ass and do something. Check out seniors centres and library
I took up bark carving- I was delighted to see little faces emerge from the bark. I also went to the wood work shop to cut out sewing boards for the twins. They have been a God send for keeping me busy. I enjoy seeing their growing experiences. I have arranged for piano lessons for them. One of my students teaches music and volunteered to teach them and the host of the painting class offered a key board. Gloria said 3.5 is a good time to start them.
Even writing this blog helps put thing in perspective. Another thing I learned is the importance of family and friends. Shannon's reassuring phone calls and Sherri's family including us in their family life. Babysitting is a real rewarding affair. Thanks to all who e-mailed or phoned . Laughter is very important. I got lost in reading and watching jokes, pictures on the internet.
I was lucky I didn't get any colds etc. As I went to the hospital just about every day. I tried to go during lunch or supper to make sure Bill ate. He is coming along at home and he is driving by himself with the incentive of the boat. He wears a foot splint to help lift his toes up.
REMEMBER-Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have.
