February 27 Saturday 2010 Pahrump
Today we leave at 830 to meet Hudson and Dina at Mandalay Bay in Vegas at 10am. We both get there early. WE walk the strip I show them the highlights. We have lunch at planet Hollywood. I am busy taking pictures on Dina's camera and wanted to turn the flash off and somehow deleted everything they have on their camera and Hudson didn't download to his computer. I sure felt like shit. We walked the strip, did Paris Paris, Bellagio, Mirage and Caesars Palace then the Venetian. Bill walks back to the truck after Caesars Palace we continue on . Hudson walks back and get the truck for us girls . We walk to McDonalds next to Circus Circus. It takes him over 1 hour to return ,rush hour time. On our way back to Pahrump we encounter a snow storm over the Red Rock canyon Pass. A good 2” had fallen even snow plows were on the road, but once over the pass everything settled down. A good time was had by all.
REMEMBER-So many places so little time , where to begin , just do it.

February 26 Friday 2010 Pahrump
We are all set to go 7:30 am .We take the road less traveled to 29 palms and Amboy. We arrive in Pahrump 12:30 and get set up. Satalite dish works great but the WiFi doesn't. We go to the Nugget casino just across from our Prefered RV park. We go for the sea food buffet. Yum. We traveled 258 mi,416 k and mpg 11.5 5-1/2 hours.

today I take Ethel for lunch at the Rivers. Its Shannon and Ethan anniversary today. (4th) They are on their way to Cairns Australia and should be there for 1 month as they are getting work done on CV9.

February 23 Tuesday 2010 Desert Hot Springs
My last hike in the Palm Springs area. 6 of us do the Hidden Palms trail in the Coachella Valley preserve. Flowers are slowly blooming. Weather is still co-opering.
February 24 Wednesday 2010 Desert Hot Springs
Computer lesson day both at our park and Catalina. Bill finds that one of the rear doulie tire is leaking oh joy and I am taking Eithel out. Bill pumps up the tire.

a nothing day we go back to Trader Joes to get more cheese and almonds to take to Canada. We start to get ready to leave for pahrump on Friday.
Monday I lead another hike to Santa Rosa and the Henderson trail. This time I have8 It is windy in Desert Hot springs but the sun is still shinning.

February 20 Saturday 2010 Desert Pools
Today we are invited for lunch in Riverside to John Wheelers who we met on our Alaska caravan 10 years ago. Bill is impressed as John has one large room with three of his train set he owns up and running. We have a good time talking of past adventures. Nobody shows up for pokino so I go to Fantasy tours on Alaska and renew our trip .I win the prize a one year membership to enjoy America parks (450 parks) will check the Internet to see what it is all about.
REMEMBER-Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

February 19 Friday 2010 Desert Pools
we leave at 8am for Joshua tree National Park and do not get home until 6pm. We stop at the visitors center and do their trail . I learn more about birds as I have my birder here. We hike to the stamp mill first then the Baker dam ,then Key view where a bank of smog was drifting into the valley from LA.. We couldn't see the Salton Sea. Next we stopped and walked the cholla gardens and the ocotillos .Another great day with beautiful sights.
REMEMBER-one must wait until evening to see how great the day has been.

February 17 Wednesday 2010 Desert Hot springs I stay in the park today and attend 2 computer classes ,one here and one at Catalena Park then I get ready for Annette and Orv and Ken and Linda for dinner. I made a big booboo I got a date wrong I thought I was going to the play Menopause Thursday but is was Wednesday so I lost out big time.
REMEMBER-Hard work pays off in the future laziness pays off now.

February 15 Monday . 2010 Desert Hot Springs Today we go to see Bill Crosby at the McCallun theater in Palm Desert. We go to the 3:30 show. We go out for dinner latter.

February 13 Saturday 2010 Desert Hot springs
We take Gina and Bob to the Palm springs art festival. We have to fight our way out to the street as a bike marathon is going on they say there were 9,000 bikes riding anywhere from 25-150 miles. After the show we walked the street then stopped at the Fisherman's Market for lunch.
REMEMBER-If you don't have a dream how can you have a dream come true?

February 12 Friday 2010 palm springs area
Today is moving day we go to Desert Pools in Desert Hot Springs for 2 weeks. Bob and Gina are there. We invite them to come with us to the Canadian Snowbird show. We get the latest news on the rights and privileges of Canadian travelers in the USA. They gave 3-5 examples of medical claims. They had good entertainment a musical duo Bower and Blue who delivered a side splitting satirist comedy. We meet Brian and Marg Stanhope there. A nice surprise. Bob and Gina invite us for a enjoyable steak dinner.
REMEMBER-Say yes to more happiness.

tonight I lead a group to the Palm Springs Art museum and the Street festival where they close down the street from 6-10. It is free from 4-10 on Thursday. I get a surprise -friends from our Australia trip also come. I check out where the old couple on the bench are and find them downstairs. An amazing piece of art. We get a very good docent to describe the works in the gallery. He talks for 1 hour. We walk to the street fair and have dinner at Ruby's ( great hamburgers a 60's diner). The street fair was quite crowded. We didn't get home until 10pm.
REMEMBER-Style is being comfortable in your clothes and your own skin.
