We made it back to Palm Desert it was cold here too but not as cold as Surrey. Hudson and Dina picked us up at the airport and we went to Carl's Jr. for lunch. Weather will get warmer every day with being in the 70 by next Sun.

We had a good dinner at Me and Ed's then went back to Sherri's and opened a couple of presents. Kids went to bed with no real problem and didn't get down until 8:30 .We gave camera's so pictures will follow when I down download them . Merry Christmas to everyone who follow the blog

We had a good flight home,picked up our rental and had to adjust to the inner workings. You do do use a key to start the car , you push a button. Now where is the heat,lights etc??? Bill pop up the hood 2 times trying to release the brakes. It's the shits getting old. Sherri nicely had the heat on for us. Bill couldn't get the satalite dish to work,so I went over to Karens while Bill cooled down Good neighbours are good to have. I get my hair cut ( long over due) We go and get our travel insurance for the rest of the winter. We go to Sherri's and go out for pizza. We stay overnight so we can watch the twins come down their stairs for Christmas. PS satalite dish works now

December 18 Thursday 2014 sorry I haven't posted but I have been busy. Today It was painting get together and I started some desert scenes .Chief's table in the afternoon a chief from Tommy Bahama's restaurant in El Paseo demonstrated pineapple creme brulee. We even got a sample. Yesterday yoga was cancelled as it rained in the morning. Tuesday was strings I thought but they meet every other Tuesday so we stayed in the library until 2:30 when we went to Mexician train at the Elks. The weather is improving again. Friday is crafty ladies and yoga at Sunnyland

Tuesday December 2 Palm Desert I play Mexician train at the Elks hall .Wednesday is Yoga at Palm Desert Art museum gardens the best class yet. Thursday I start miniature desert paintings Thursday evening is the Palm Springs Inn Walk. Linda and Annette go too. We stop for a beer and nacho's before heading home. A wonderful warm night. RAIN is forecast for Friday .

Sunday we drive to Desert Hot Springs

We end up with a parade going up the main drag. The Cabot's museum next as they have a collection of work from Oaxaca Mx. We stop in at our old RV park that is in the middle of changing hands. They have paved all the roads in the park and have done more improvements especially the pool. We had a good visit with Terry and Nancy the gate keepers and he told us the changes. Terry gave computer classes at Desert Pools. Next we stopped of at Annette and Orv's for a quick visit.

Saturday we do the college of the desert ( COD) this was very good a lot of venders. I have Ken and Linda and Clark and Shelia for dinner.

Friday is cruise night when classic cars do the El Paseo loop. Some great vehicles. The art walk starts at 5 . a lot of galleries closed . It was a disappointment.

December 4 Thursday 2014 Palm Desert yes we did feel the small earthquake.

time to up date. We have been busy with Clark and Shelia. Thursday we go to the desert Art museum and take the docent led tour. Then walk to Ruby's for dinner then the street fair. Lots to see.

December 1 Monday 2014 PowWow

We drove to La Quinta village thinking the Art under the umbrella art show was on but it was Saturday Sunday was the farmers market. Next we drove to Indio to check out our old rv park Indian Waters. Robin invited me to attend any of their functions in the park. The Indian PowWow next at Fantasy Springs casino . Wonderful costumes and great dancing. We loved watching the young ones. Great that the natives are passing on their traditions

Dentist day they clean my teeth then they remove a gold crown and will replace it Wednesday Bill is another story after 4-5 hours in the chair they clean his teeth and remove a tooth and make a temp Bill return on Wednesday too but he has to return 4-5 months to finish his work. I had lunch

at our favourite restaurant and had fish soup delicious. Walked around a bit but couldn't find any thing with my name on it eventually Bill was sprung out. I took him back and he had soup too. Now back to Yuma for a motel. Our favourite motel now charges $10 more but still reasonable as it includes breakfast. We walk across the street for dinner. A dog next door starts to bark and continues until the owners come back .After breakfast we go to the swap meets (2) then we will head back to Palm Springs as our next appointment is Wednesday. Up date while at swap meet I find another bear that has my name on it so it has to be bought.

We went shopping yesterday at the 99c only store

they had fresh pineapples on for 99c each,a bag of pears , a bag of plums, bags of onions,potatoes cucumbers(tiny) all for 99c each. Today we tried yoga in the gardens of Palm Desert art museum. This class was for the more advanced but we did what we could .After lunch I head for the pool in the park it has a hot tub and a sauna

I got all excited this morning when a flier arrived at our door 70% of painting canvas all sizes. Off we go only to find the original price is very very high came home empty handed very disappointed .

Today we visit friends from Ontario staying in Thousand Trails Rv park. The park was not full by any means a lot of empty spaces. Dianne and Bruce, Teddy and David shared their travels.I put a roast in the crockpot so dinner was ready when I got home. .

and crochet a longer loop. Yogo at Sunnylands at12. More difficult then Annette's About 80 people 1 dozen are men. All on the large lawn. Perfect setting. I will have to work on my balance.

Wednesday I did a first-went to yoga .Annette Sherri's mother-in-law gave lessons in Indio. Linda came with me. I was able to do most of the moves and only needed help getting up once. On the way home we check out Palm Desert Art museum as they have free yoga on Wed 9-10 am

in their garden. So might go there as it is a lot closer. There was also a farmers market there. We must be climatize as we had to put the furnace on this morning. Temp here run 74-51F (23-10)C It is wonderful waking up to sunshine every morning. Today was painting day. I started 3 new paintings. A rhino,zebra and lion.

We watched BC news last night we got the dish working and Bill is happy. We finished our registration today and now have a gate pass. I spent the day at the pool enjoying the sun. Bill went and got the car washed. The fun is beginning

We go visit Pat from Powel River Pete is busy working. We go to Walmart then Costco what a zoo do not go to these places on a weekend. We get a surprise when Annetta and Grant and family, Shannon's school chums come over. Grants family have a place just down the street from us . Small world.

Monday Bill is waiting for the satalite guy so far a no show. When we go to register we needed a form for our landlord to fill out. Bad start for the day

November 15 Saturday 2014 Palm Desert

A frustrating day for Bill – trying to get his satalite dish to work had Kenny come down and try. Financially Ken gave him the name of someone who helped him and he is coming 10am Monday. At least we have local TV channels and what the complex gets. We tried to register with the complex to get our gate pass but they do not work Sat and Sun .

November 14 Friday 2014 moving day

today we get our rental at noon. Steven our landlord meets us and makes sure I can get the WIFI working. We unload all our bins into one room and unpack some stuff. We go to the 99C only store and they still have cantaloupes, watermelons and honeydew for $1each. 3 romain hearts, 5 lbs of potatoes,3coloured peppers and a lot more. Then we check out Walmart and get some meat and other goodies. We come home exhausted and go to Habachi city buffet for dinner.( a seafood place includes sushi,BBQ ribs, soups salads, and desserts.a Mongolian grill where they cook what you want.  Something for everyone .We both go to bed early.

after breakfast we fuel up then go and order the Desert Sun newspaper to be delivered.We go for lunch at Carl's Jr. And I get my hamburger fix. Cold Water Creek(clothing store and the Henrick art gallery have closed but some new ones have opened. As I walk some of El Paseo. Then off to the visitors center. We stop and get some shrimp and cocktail sauce for happy hour. Ken has ribs for us yum. Temperature go up to 72 wonderful

6:45 60' overcast. The best motel breakfast ever-cheese omelets, sliced ham boiled eggs, waffles, toast ,bagels,muffins, biscuits and gravy, cereal, good coffee, juices just take your pick. We take 2 bananas and 2 yogurts for the car. Start up the grapevine 62' sunny. Turn off I-5 and go on 210 to Pasadina then hwy 10 to Palm Desert We arrive at Ken and Linda's at 1:30

It feels great to be here the dog Spike was glad to see us. We partake in a great dinner

Sunny and clear 42' at 7am. Breakfast of sausages and gravy, Bill has waffles. Yogurt follows. Coffee good We take an apple each and another yogurt plus I cut a scone in half and added grape jelly for latter. Fuel up $2.80 diesel was 80 cents more a gallon at Medford. $2.99 for the next fuel up just passed Sacramento. Temperature got up to 69'. Santa Nella for the night at a Holiday Inn. We drove 961 total miles with 509 today and 400 more to go to Kenny's in Palm Desert. After a drink we go to Denny's for dinner. Welcome to California.

November 10 Monday 2014 On the road again

Definitely time to head South as we are sitting in the car waiting for the windows to defrost. 7:25 a quick stop at the duty free store for our scotch. With our nexis pass we just whizzed through with no problem. What a beautiful day for travelling, sunny and clear. We fuel up first $3.08 then freeway to Seattle hardly any traffic .9am we stop at a rest stop and get the hotel coupon book temp 42. Once we get to Seattle it is up to 54. one more fuel stop 3.09 .We get to Roseberg Oregon not far from California We get a room in Super 8 have a drink first then go to Sherri's for dinner.

What an amazing husband I have. Bill could see I wasn't feeling up to par so he took on 2 nights babysitting without me. Bless his heart. I had a wonderful day with my daughters, we had a day at the spa together followed by lunch at the Cactus club. Somehow I got a cold bug not congested just feel blah . I spent most of the day in bed. I sure am enjoying Shannon's stories of life on board the CV9.
