Oct 11 Sunday 2009 Natchez trace Parkway towards Jackson Mississippi
9am 57'(14) We stop at the Parr mounds-burial mounds from 1,800-2000 years ago. A visitors center next where we learn the Natchez trace was used by people trading their goods. They built rafts and floated down the Mississippi and walk back using old Indian trails North.(Natchez trace) It was also used by Colonial troops and mail delivery. We pass more wild turkeys and quite a few deer. They are really very small. We are also passing cypress swamps. It is wonderful driving with no power lines or Bill boards. We finally turn off to hwy 20 to Jackson where we stay at Spring Ridge RV park . $ 24 complete hookup. I pay $4 for 24 hour WIFI. We drove 233mi (376 KM) Miles per gallon 13.8
