Gila Cliff dwellings were built in the late 13th century. The Mogollon built the dwellings. There were 40 rooms inside 6 caves or alcoves .

The Mogollon found abundant game and fertile soil in the Gila river valley for both native vegetation and their crops of corn.beans,and squash. The timber sticking out are original. wood
























The Tularosa Mogollon built inside the caves with rock, and mortar and timbers from trees cut between 1276 and 1287.
