August 21 Friday 2009 today Glace bay
We leave late again today as we stay back to watch Regis and Kelly as our Globle weather announcer Tamara is co-hosting the show.
Today we drive to Glace Bay Cape Breton NS to see the miner's museum. The museum is divided into 3 parts- 1 on the surface- we learn about various types of coal mining and mining techniques. 2-underground coal mine tour. A retired coal miner gives us in site on the life of a miner. We had Sheldon McNeil. My stepfather came from Glace Bay and he was a McNeil. What a coincident. 3-A historic miners village telling the story of miners in 1850-1900's. The first tour for us is at 1pm so we opt to have lunch in the on site restaurant. There was also a miners of the deep theater but we were either too early or too late as show was Aug. 18 or 25. We saw then once on the Reta McNeil Christmas show. Awesome. We drive into the town of Glace Bay and go to the Marconi site. Here the history of Guglielmo Marconi and his invention of wireless radio communication are depicted. We stop at the Glace Bay historic ,site the old town hall for visitors info , they are out of what I want. (Doers and Dreamers).
REMEMBER-Take time to think, it is the source of power.
