We leave hwy 17 and take hwy 6 at Espanola for Manitoulin Island. It is believed to be the largest fresh water island in the world. More than 100 lakes sprinkle the island. Within the lakes are several more islands. There are 5 Indian reservations on the Island too. Beautiful farmland .We have to stop for 15 min. for a bridge that opens for boat traffic. It is also a one way bridge. A short drive today and we arrive at 3pm 60'(15) only 227miles 365k We stay at South Bay resort $31 a night. No WIFI. I walk the lake shore after supper. I see loons ,cormorants and gulls.
