February 16 Wednesday 2011 Cusco Day 8
We go to Cusco market first. Then we explore Sacsayhuaman another Inca ruin. This one was a fortress set on a hilltop overlooking Cuzco. It's double-zigzag wall is said to symbolize a puma's teeth and at one time there were 3 immense towers and a labyrinth of rooms large enough to garrison 5,000 Incan solders. Today the interior buildings are gone , having been dismantled by the Spaniards for their stone, but the imposing outer walls remain.
