February 13 Sunday 2011 Pisca Peru
Another exciting day for me as we visit the ruin of Ollantaytambo. This is one of the few places where Spanish lost the battle during the conquest of Peru. We stop and cross over a bridge where the foundation is the old original built by the Incas in the fourteen hundreds. The Inca walled terraces are still used today. Ollantaytambo was a fortress and a religious center. It had a temple of the sun and a temple of the moon. We get to climb to the top. Even Bill comes. After the ruins we go to a pub and sample the local stuff. Then the local farmer's market where we have to buy stuff for out home -hosted lunch. This was fun . We get to help with the chilli relanios. And yes our lunch had ginnie pigs. We experience local hospitality as we even get to see grandma's farm. Back to the hotel for a well deserved nap. Dinner at a local resturant.
REMEMBER-The sermons are lived not preached.
