July 1 Wednesday 2009 Happy Canada day
Today we step back in time to early Acadian life as we visit settlements brimming with devotion of historic culture traditions which stand in stark contrast to modern 21 century economic life as we know it now. The Acadians (marsh settlers) from 1770-1939. More than 40 authentic Acadian structures transported to the site and restored, include houses. A chapel, a school, a general store a printing house a cobbler's shop a tinsmith a smithy a gristmill a tarvern and the 1910 Chateau Albert Hotel . Interpreters in period costumes bring ancestral customs and traditions to life. Admission $16 each we were there for 4 hours very interesting. The weather wasn't that great we used our umbrellas at times. But well worth the effort. We get ready to leave for Prince Edward Island tomorrow. Hopefully at a KOA with free WIFI. in the rig.
REMEMBER-If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
