October 18 Tuesday 2011 Zion
We drive 35 miles to the beautiful Zion canyon. Sheer vividly coloured cliffs tower above as you follow the road along the floor of Zion. We buy a yearly National Park Pass good in all NP for 1 year.$80. We stop at the visitors center to see when the rangers talks are. We get the free off-on shuttle bus to Zion Museum to watch a 20 minute introductory movie. Next is a rangers talk on water, rocks and time. We get back on the bus and go all the way to the end. Here we walk the Riverside walk ( 1.5 hours) a paved trail leads us to the narrows. We see mule deers and lots of squirrels. We take the bus to weeping rock trail, a short steep hike that ends at a rock alcove with dripping springs. We are all tired so head back to the visitors center. We check out the RV park but find out one has to make reservations for the electric spots . Dry camping is first come first serve. ( all nice sites. )
REMEMBER-It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have
