September 26 Sunday 2010 – at sea Holland America Zuiderdam
We meet Hudson and Dina for breakfast in the Lido room a buffet as the other restaurants are not opened. Bill isn't feeling well as we are running in confused seas left over from rough seas before arriving in Vancouver. he returns to our room with seasickness pills. we attend an interesting talk with our captain-Christopher Turner. We can ask any questions. Some things we learned- he lives in West Sussex and has 2 sons 26 and 28. There are 15 DAM ships in the fleat. We are traveling 35 miles off shore at 14.5 k. He talks for 1 hour. He also talks about the panama. We will only have 25 inches on either side if the ship while in some of the locks. We stop at the gym on our way to lunch to keep track of our weight. Lunch in the Vista, then walks cautiously around the deck with difficulty as we are are shifting side to side. 3 times around is 1 mile. We do 4 laps. We go to the crows nest (top floor) weather overcast with fog banks We do not see the horizon. Dina and I play a game of Rummy cubes. Before going for happy hour around 4:30. Bill is feeling better and joins us. Dinner 5:45 dress code semi formal. Bill puts his blazer on. 8Pm show time . Tonight we are entertained by a group of young people who sing and dance-Stage and Screen. A great show with lots of energy. We are too tired to walk the deck again. Bill is in bed by 9:30. I stay up and type my blog in open office ready to post when I get on line.
