March 8 Monday 2010 Pahrump
Today we decide to go to Death Valley and Scotty's castle formally known as Death Valley Ranch. A mansion built by Chicago millionaire Albert Johnson between 1922-1933. Prospector Death Valley Scotty claimed the elaborate Spanish style mansion built by gold from the fictitious mine. In reality it was the 1920 vacation home of his wealthy friend (Albert). We get tickets for 2 tours-the house and the underground. The richly furnished interior of the house is given by costumed park ranger. It took us 2-1/2 hours to get there going vie Furnace Creek and returning vie Beauty. One big circle. We took a picnic lunch.
REMEMBER-If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.
