December 1-3 Casa Grande 2009
I can't believe it is December already. Tonight Old Town Casa Grande has an Art in the Alley and car show with entertainment. We have dinner there. Thursday 5 of us hike Casa Grande mountain. Sherri phones to say they bought a new car a Mazda 5 . I get ready to move Friday-vacuum,wash floors and laundry.

November 29 Sunday 2009 Casa Crande Arizona
3 of us drive to Table Mountain for a hike in the desert. We first stop at a barnlike building. Aparrently someone built it to raise cattle (not finished) but he died before it was finished. We meet 2 cowboys next door who told us the story. They were there at their coral looking for their missing wild cows that were there yesterday but were missing today. Someone got to them . Apparently wild cows and horses roam the area. What they eat is beyond me. They also told us to look out for ailiens as this was the coridor for smugglers and drugs from Mexico. Sure enough we find backpacks, gas cans, empty water containers etc. Then we notice signs telling us the same thing put up by the government. We finally make it to the end of the gravel road where there are washrooms, picnic tables and camp sites. We follow the trail up to the mountain. We do not make it to the top. We left at 8:30 and came back by 4:30. Thank goodness I didn't have to cook dinner as Al invited us to his place for dinner. They are Canadians and she cooked a canadian dinner- salmon, home cooked pickled beets, home made Christmas cakes and minced mincemeat pies.

November 26,26,28 Americian Thanksgiving 2009
The park has Thanksgiving dinner-turkey and the works ($7.50 ea) I sign up to help them clean up. Friday the park has a managers meeting answering any guestions we have on Western Horizons. Quite informative. The weather is still perfect. 78(26)-47(11).
REMEMBER-on the road of life great things are just around the corner.

November 23,24.25 Casa Grande 2009
Monday we got our flue shots ($25each) They came to the RV park. Shannon phones to say they are leaving Hawaii for Fiji and expect to arrive in 14 days. Today I hike with Al We go to some petroglyphs and see grave sites of an old mining area. I found it interesting that money was left on the grave sites.
REMEMBER-Fear less, hope more.

November 18 Wednesday 2009 Casa Grande Arizona
Walk away the pounds 3 mile in morning and a computer class in the afternoon Pokino in the evening. End of good day.
REMEMBER- The advantage of a book is that it is very easy to rewind.

November16 Monday 2009 Casa Grande Arizona
I start the morning with walk away the pounds then line dancing. After lunch we drive into town and I check out the visitors center. Then a quick trip to Wal-Mart. Then pokino in the evening. We got a report from Ethan . CV9 is enjoying calm deep blue seas. They expect to be in Honolulu Friday morning.

November 15 Sunday 2009 Casa Grande Arizona
Our friends from our Australia and New Zealand trip arrived in Casa Grande. We have a good visit showing each other pictures etc.
Up date on Sherri. We got the park model in Indio ( Palm Springs area) and Sherri has the flight confirmed for January 6-13.

November 14 Saturday 2009 Casa Grande Arizona
We paid $105 for 3 weeks including WIFI, 50 amp power, water and sewer. (no free phone or cable the park has a patio sale ( in front of your rig). I do not find anything I need but got a good walk. Temperature in the low 70's . It rains for 1 hour at noon. An up date on Shannon and Ethan. The left Victoria BC Sunday November 9th for Hawaii. It should take them 14 days. The water was rather nasty. They were taking on 15 foot seas on the beam for 3 days, nothing CV9 can't handle. Simply uncomfortable. The weather is to improve tomorrow. After Hawaii they will take another 14 days for Fiji where the boat will be for Christmas.
REMEMBER- You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.

November 13 Friday 2009 Casa Grande Arizona
We leave for our Western Horizon park in Casa Grande. Bill has no difficulty setting up the satalite dish and getting all hocked up. It looks like they have pokino every evening at 6:30.Hooray. WIFI works but they do not have the free phone that they had in St David. Dam
REMEMBER-Dust is just a protection cover for furniture

Nov22 Saturday
Shannon phones they are finally away to go around South America. Their first stop will be Trinidad for fuel. It should take a week and ½. They hope to be on Rio in 18 days.

Nov 21 Friday
We go to see the James Bond movie this after noon.

Sabrino canyon Tucson

Nov 20 Thursday
14 of us drive to Tucson -71 mi- and hike in Sabino Canyon . We take the tram $8.00 to the top -25min. The tram runs every hour and one can get on and off whenever. We hike to the bottom and take some side trails on the way. We are back in the RV park by 1pm.

Nov 19 Wed
Our trucks USB break system is acting up. 9.30pm we hear this clicking noise coming from our truck. It is so loud it would have kept our neighbour awake so Bill moved it . We couldn't see how to disconnect it. By morning it has stopped. We will have it looked at in Tucson.

Internet has been down so could not post
Nov17 Monday
I try to get my slide show on my computer working . I take it to a shop he charges me $50 . I take it home and it doesn't work so I take it back . It works there . I go to the library to post my blog as the internet is still down at our RV park.

Nov 18 Sunday
Today we go to the large flea market at Apache Junction east of Phoenix. 47 miles from Casa Grande. It is huge. A coyote crosses our path on the way. It takes us from 9-1pm to go through it all.

Nov 15 Saturday
I go with Al and 2 other men for a 2 and ½ hr hike in the morning. I planned on going to the pool and hot tub but they were both closed because of the wind and dust blowing everywhere. So I lounge in the sun instead. Pokino again tonight.
