August 24 Wednesday 2011 Bowen Island

2 sailboats at Bowen but one is leaving in half an hour so we wait and pullover to the dock. Another BYC boat arrives and we let him raft. He only stays one night. It pours rain all day Sunday. We phone Clark and Shelia to tell them that Thunderbird has room for them. I invite them for dinner. We have a good visit. Tuesday We do the 2 and half hour walk around Killarney lake. A beautiful walk. We leave today to try to get into Gibsons if not then up to Ekins. .

REMEMBER-encourage independence to cultivate self-reliance.

July 7 Thursday 2011 Snug Cove

Shannon phones and is excited about flying home to Fort Lauderdale while their boat is on the hard. Sherri , Carter and Madison come to Snug Cove (Bowen Island) for the day. We have a good time at the beach. Dina helps me with the twins while Sherri takes Bill and Hudson go on a car ride around the Island. OATS phones to say the dates for my 2012 Route Maya trip in February.

July 5 Tuesday 2011 Snug Cove Saturday had only 11 boats in Center Bay. We had happy hour on Bob and Roses boat. Sunday July 2 It was bright and sunny when we woke up but minutes latter it came down in torrents. It was on of those days when we changed clothes to suit the weather. Wild life spotting- a deer on shore and a mink or martin. Wasn't fast enough for [pictures. Lots of boats leave for North. 3 new boats arrive so we have 10 tonight. Monday- Hudson and Dina arrive at Snug Cove ( Bowen) yesterday and phone to say there is a spot opened if we want to join them so we leave right after morning coffee. A beautiful day we watch a doe bring here fawn down to the beach and a family of Canada geese bum breakfast. Internet here

May 16 Monday 2011 Bowen Island then Gobsons

It is raining lightly so go up and post. We leave for Gibsons. Here I have to go to the local resturant for free WIFI.

May 15 Sunday 2011 Bowen Island

It pours rain all day. Bill Kitchen comes down to look at our holding tank as it doesn't seem to be emptying properly. Thank goodness we have a forward head. Bill changes his mind and we will go to Gibsons Monday .

May 14 Saturday 2011 Bowen Island

We wake up to sunshine and decide to leave for Bowen Island . We get under the bridge and it is too bumpy to continue and it is starting to rain so we head back By 3pm weather improves so we try again and make it. We will spend 3 nights here then off to Gibsons . They have WIFI here so will be able to post. Bill gets the satalite dish working, It is raining too hard to post tonight as we left our umbrellas in the truck.

REMEMBER-The only thing better than right now is right now will someday be the memories.

Snug Cove Bowen Island

August 27 Friday 2010 Bowen Island Snug Cove

We arrive around 1pm after fueling up. A mix of rain with sunshine. 1 other BYC boat here . They leave the next day so we are by ourselves for Bowenfest and the ferry run. A parade started after the 10:30 ferry left. Amazing quite good for a small community. My blood pressure is down considerably. Nothing over 150. A beautiful sunny day today and the same expected for tomorrow.So far we are the only BYC boat here for tonight

REMEMBER-Pay attention to what you like and ignore or discourage the rest.

August 18 Wednesday 2010 Bowen Island Snug Cove

Sunny but windy. We can see white caps out in the gap. The power goes out at 9am but is back by 11am. Another 2 boats arrive so we raft up. We will leave for Ekins tomorrow. no internet

August 17 Tuesday 2010 Snug Cove Bowen Island

Sherri, Carter and Madison arrive on the 10:30 ferry. They bring the car ($25).We have fun on the beach including a picnic. Grandpa buys ice cream just before nap time- big mistake. They have a hard time going down but finally make it. They stay for dinner. One other BYC boat arrive ( Terry and Susan Murphy)

August 2010 Bowen Island

We are the only ones at the dock. Sherri is thinking of driving the kids over on the ferry tomorrow. The water was nice and calm coming over. Bill even got the satalite dish to work. weather is a little too hot for Bill. It is going to cool down by Wednesday. Vancouver have set a lot of record heat for the month of August.

June 17 2010 Thursday Snug Cove Bowen Island
change of plans. We are staying yet another night at Snug Cove. then heading to Gibsons and leaving out Center Bay. we hope to stay at Gibsons until Sunday when we will head to Pender Harbour- weather and water permitting.
I had a good time skying with Carter and Madison this morning. I got lots of thrown kisses - so cute. I did my last visit at the library in Bowen and will return the one book I got in Gibsons.

lounge at Snug Cove marina- all nauticle awesome Showere were $1 for 10 min. even a hairdryer is privided as well as computers with a printer no less. Very well done . note the big screen TV too

Snug Cove Bowen Island

June 15 Tuesday 2010 Snug Cove, Bowen Island.

Yet another beautiful day. After checking emails and lunch we decide to hike up the grueling hill to the Artisan gift shops. Much to our disappointment most shop are only opened Thursday to Sunday and not until 12pm. The deli cafe is opened so we have a delicious muffin and coffee. We return to the boat and enjoy a wine on the command bridge before dinner also held on the bridge. A wonderful evening.

REMEMBER-Set a goal and you are halfway there.

June 14 Monday 2010 Snug Cove Bowen Island
another beautiful day. We decide to walk to Killarny lake. Many people are on the trail. Another BYC boat arrives in the evening ( Paul and Threasa). It starts to thunder and lightning around 7pm then rain of coarse.

June 13 Sunday 2010 Snug Cove
We finally get to leave after I do a quick fresh veg. shopping. We are away just after 12 in beautiful sunny weather. Just after we go under the Lions Gate bridge it get unconfortable . Big swells as it is a tide change. This goes on until we get to Point Atkinson. We got lacks and didn't tie things down or put things away properly. Chairs moved and a bucket of pop slid off the command bridge . Once we got around Point Atkinson everything calmed down. We decide to check out Snug Cove. ( Bowen Island)Yes it is free of BYC boats. We tie up and restore stuff and our mind. We didn't even have our life jacket on top. We will be more prepared next time. A beautiful evening as we walked to the store to get a Saturday paper.
REMEMBER-Life is a rollercoaster, and you never know when it's going to take a turn.
