Tonight we are going to Ken and Linda's for dinner. Boy 2 days without cooking. Again sunny but a cool breeze. But I am not complaining after all the rain we had. July 7 Wednesday 2010 Gibsons

I need a haircut and decide to hike to upper Gibsons via the Inglis trail through the forest. At the entrance to the trail are a few warnings. A cougar was sighted June 17 and there are many bears around as well as Coyotes. I go any way. I see non of this but a doe and her fawn cross the path right in front of me. They were not in any hurry. I didn't have my camera. Won't I ever learn. I check the Super Value mall No hairdressers. I walk to the IGA mall but they are booked for the whole day. I walk down to Hair Reflections near where Clark and Shelia live. Vicki does a great job. Only 4 boats in the BYC spots tonight. I should sleep well tonight.

REMEMBER-He who laughs last is the slowest.

I head to an internet cafe to check my e-mails. 38 on hotmail and 90 in g-mail. It takes me awhile to go through them. Then I head for the library. I take out 8 books as I will be home July 17 as Sherri and Gerry have tickets for the Lion King. I can return the books then as they are part of the Interlink system. I return to the boat and enjoy an idyllic summer day. Only 3 BYC boats here tonight.

REMEMBER-reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.

Then it is time to go to Ken and Linda's for dinner. I use their computer to do the last of checking until we return to BYC on Monday or Tuesday. We are heading up to Ekins on top of \Gamier Island. It is the family weekend they are expecting 45 boats.
May 17 Monday 2010 sunny Gibsons
I go to the new building in the marina and have a long shower.$1 for 10 min. they even have a hairdryer. After I play on their computer and check e-mail etc. Bill wants to leave for Gibsons around 10am. Not to be. We try to start the noter , nothing . He phones around and gets someone with meters to find out it is our battery. Our charger was disconected so we reconnected it and waited for the charge. By 3:30 it was charged and we left. Gibsons had one boat in the BYC spot. Clark is there to grab our line and take us for dinner at their place. After a delicious meal we chatter ( I must get the recipie for the chicken casserole Yum Yum )
REMEMBER-Life should be a pattern of experiences to savour ,not to endure.

August 26 Wednesday 2009 Halifax
We wake up to light rain and fog. Bill tooth is still hurting so he returns to the dentist they think he might have an infection so they prescribe antibiotics. After lunch we decide to go to Peggy's cove. The fog just added to the mystery. Bill bought an ice cream cone and a seagull flew and knocked it out of his hand. He returned to buy another and sure enough there was signs warning you about the seagull problem. Too funny. Everywhere one looked was a Kodak moment. We stop at the flight 111 memorial on the way out. The sun was starting to come out just as we were leaving. Bill played with the satalite dish and finally got it working.
REMEMBER- Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul.

Tuesday May 20
BYC weekend has come and gone. What a beautiful sunny weekend 32 boats attended the family function. Lots of activities for everyone. (horseshoes, crib, boat building, volleyball and even a casino night. We even took our kayaks down and I hiked over to Thunderbird just around the corner. The best was I didn't have to cook all weekend, with the exception of happy hours. They even supplied free strawberry daquaries with rum and margaritas with tequila. I even got to talk to 2 members who were grandparents of twins, one set born in February. The other set I got to meet and talk to the parents.
It poured rain Monday. Most people head home we go with Hudson and Dina to Gibsons for 2-3 days. It stops raining by noon.
