January 1 Tuesday 2013 Happy New Years We are back from a whirlwind trip to Vancouver. It was good having all our family together for Christmas. Our painting group got together thanks to Sharon. I didn't cook the whole time I was there. Now that is a holiday. Ken and Linda pick us up at the airport in sunshine. Dinner at Hudson and Dina's next. Sunday people we met in 2007??? from manning park area came for lunch. Monday Ken and Linda, Hudson and Dina and us go to Habachi for a seafood buffet the go to see the Xmas lights. We couldn't find candy cane lane but did see one house that had thousands of lights that twinkled to music. REMEMBER-celebrate what you've accomplished, but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed.

December 25 Tuesday 2012 Merry Christmas everyone Sunday we flew into Bellingham and picked up our rental car and headed to the duty free store and the border ( no problem). BC doesn't let us down it starts to rain. We arrived at Sherri's house around 6 have a visit and then go to the house. Sherri was very kind and turned the heat on for us so house nice and warm. Monday we go and check the boat. Ethan comes with us. Ethan gets more brownie points as he hangs our road runner above the fireplace and puts our glass shelf up for the wire Indian. Tonight we all go out for pizza, then we baby sat while the got the living room ready for santa. Go to Sherri's at 8am kids not up yet we wake them up at 9am then the fun began. Ethan cooked and delicious breakfast. Shannon and Sherri got the turkey ready. At 12pm huge snowflakes are coming down beautiful. It doesn't last. Gerry,Sherri Carter and Madison go and visit the other grandma while we look after Xmas dinner. Wednesday Shannon and Ethan take all of us to the Royal Van for lunch. The kids go to grandma Annette's. REMEMBER-There are no regrets in life, just lessons

December 20 Thursday 2012 Getting into a routine with computer sessions, crafty ladies,and painting. Weather turning colder but still sunny every day. Having a group from Ontario here today . Hudson and Dina arrived yesterday. They had a terrible trip down and will come earlier next year. We are getting ready to fly home Saturday for 6 days. Looking forward to seeing Carter and Madison. December 8 Saturday 2012 We go with Ron and Pat from Medicine Hat Alberta to Canada fest at the convention centre in Palm Springs. It was their first show. Over 300 venders, entertainment, travel information, realtors,and seminars. $6 for parking and $10 each entrance fee, a little high for what we got. We went to the Thai Smile again for lunch then back to our place for a visit. REMEMBER-Dream your dreams, then live them . December 9 Sunday 2012 Today we hike Indian Canyon with Ron and Pat and Linda. A great day for the nature walk. December 6 Thursday 2012 We are back in Palm Springs it cost Bill $800 for 3 caps and a cavity repaired. He is like new again. Thursday was a busy day as we finally register as a renter and get our own gate key. We get the paper delivered, check out the visitors center for December stuff and go to the 99C only store for fruit and veg. Tonight Annette and I go to the Art Walk. It is very quite. REMEMBER- Life is like riding a bicycle-to keep your balance you must keep moving.

December 13 We drive to Yuma Sunday.2 hours and 45 min. First we go to the 2 swap meets and Bill buys a tarp for the boat house. Then we look into a motel and decide to try the Howard Johnson where we stayed about 15 years ago as they had happy hour. Sure enough they still have it. They gave us a room for $37 plus tax. incredible this also included breakfast- eggs ,waffles, cereal, fruit etc. We had a dentist appointment 10am Monday. We both had our teeth cleaned and a check up $30 each. I was home free of cavities poor Bill had 3 caps plus other stuff, We are to return Wednesday so decide to stay in Yuma and not return to Palm Springs. We do lunch in Algadones delicious shrimp soup and chiveche the motel gives us the same rate. We go to their free happy hour . We are allowed 2 drinks free .We go Tuesday to visit Barb and Wolf former boating friends. They have a pad in Yuma. Next Walmart so I can buy a new ink cartridge for my printer. We go to the Red Lobster for dinner. They have a special $15 each for a 4 course meal . Too much food . Back to Howard Johnson for happy hour. I have a black Russian and a white Russian , both good. Bill is boring and has a double scotch all for free. We have an 11am appointment for Bill in Algodones for his 3 caps REMEMBER-Life isn't just valued by the money you leave, it's the memories.
