December 23 Indio 2009
Today I run another tag-along. This time to the Salton Sea. We go to the East side where the visitors center is. The Salton Sea is the largest inland surface body of water in Cal. The sea lies in a closed basin .salt is leached as water passes through salt containing soil. The Salton sea is 98 years old and lies 228' below sea level. After an orientation vidio we hike the Ironwood trail then off to the Oasis date garden where they give us a talk on the life of dates. We get a free date shake (yum ) and are able to sample numerous different dates.
REMEMBER- Leave your worries behind they only weigh you down.
