classic car and boat show

June 14 Sunday   What a perfect weekend for the BYC's  classis car and boat show. It started of with a hamburger cook out Friday night then breakfast Saturday morning. Hot dogs or hamburgers for lunch and a wine and cheese happy hour before Baren of beef and chicken for dinner. Dancing came afterwards but my sinuses kicked in with hay fever. I didn't have to cook all weekend . Sherri and family took their boat up to Clemmy

First time for everything. We stayed home as our boat is being worked on ( generator problems). Friday we take our neighbour and go to Steveston and Ladner for lunch on the waterfront then we drive to Finn's slough. This is an artist paradise. Building going up everywhere.
Saturday we do the Surrey market. Sunday we do the farmers market and flea market. Boy this is the place to buy plants. We go to George and Betty's for dinner.

May 24

May 24 Sunday 2015

We come home from Clemmy early as Bill went to start the generater and oil and something sprayed all over in the engine room. Oh the joys of boating. We do not get internet or phone service at Clemmy ( head of Indian Arm.) Our mechanic is not home until June 2 so we will go home and come back after my painting lessons Wednesday. It was disappointing as Sherri and family arrived Friday night . I only got a short time with the twins Carter took down his kayaks right away and Madison explored the beach.  An update on Shannon and Ethan they are in beautiful Portofino in the Provence of G ena on the Italian Rivera. Their boss arrives today for a week then the bosses sister-in-law next.

I had a good time with the chief's kitchen and Sunday sounds new programs to me. I didn't do as much hiking as I would have liked but there is always next year . I had a great group of ladies for Mexician train every Monday afternoon and discovered some would like to try hiking ( nature walks) next year.  Looking forward to being with Carter and Madison and spending time on the boat maybe even to the gulf Islands.

art festival and flower festival

this the fellow who did our roadrunner

flower festival

Friday we go to the La Quinta art festival. $15 each and $8 for parking, I was lucky as someone gave me 2 tickets. this festival was  much bigger as they had people showing from all over even Gibsons, Sechelt and  Vancouver. It was in a very good setting surrounding a small lake. We went to the Thai Smile for an early dinner with a balcony seats so we could watch the classic cars go by. Then off for the art walk and book signing. Saturday I go with Pat and Peter to the Coachella Valley Wild Flower Festival. Very well organised, they had us park at a church nearby and bused us in.We did a short hike led by a docent who explained all the plants on the Ed Hactey trail. There was a lot more booths then last year . there was also a sand sculpture creations. Randel Henderson trail next where we saw many prickley pear cactus in bloom.
